Finlande.nl-web service is a distribution channel for information produced by the Embassy of Finland, The Hague and the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland for both foreigners and Finns. The web service will be available in Finnish, Swedish, English and Dutch. However, not all the material is necessarily available in all four languages.
The front page contains the most recent news about Finland and Finnish culture and reports, speeches and articles about the Embassy's activities in the Netherlands. The Foreign Ministry's column about current affairs will contain the newest published information, speeches or articles concerning the Foreign Ministry.
Current affairs-page takes users to the Embassy’s own communiqués and articles about the activities of the representation. Also available on this page is advice to travellers and communiqués from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which are updated via the formin.finland.fi site, as well as media reviews drafted by the Embassy. Current affairs material can be ordered as an RSS feed for delivery to an RSS reader.
The cultural calendar contains information about cultural events in the Netherlands(exhibitions, concerts, lectures etc.), linked to Finland.
Embassy-page introduces the Embassy's staff, the chancellery building and the Ambassador's residence. This page will also contain a historic review on the Finnish diplomacy in the Netherlands.
The Services section provides information about passports, entry permits and citizenship and other consular services provided by the Embassy. This page contains also information on services for companies and a section Frequently asked questions.
Links contains information about useful links concerning Finland, Finland's state administration and its offices, Finnish associations and communities in the Netherlands and Netherlands state administration.
Feedback-form can be used for a quick contact with the Embassy and for questions, comments or feedback about the web pages.
Contact-page shows how to contact the Embassy.
Please find the language options and font size and search functions at the top of the page.
The language versions operate on a different user interface. On the right-hand side of individual pages, mention is made if the same content is also available in other languages.
The search function is based on a free-text search. The search provides visitors the option to narrow down the search and words can be truncated using the *-symbol and Boolean connectors, such as AND or OR.
On the right side of individual pages, information is given on the possible foreign language versions of material on the page and links to other pages related to the subject matter. The related links have been divided into three groups: Also on this site, Related topics on other Foreign Service websites, and Related websites.
All the material on the Current affairs subsection can also be monitored with an RSS feed (Really Simple Syndication/Rich Site Summary). Users can subscribe to a newsgroup and receive notifications of updates. This helps avoid constant visits to the website in order to be notified of new and changed content. RSS feeds are marked with an RSS feed icon .
An RSS feed requires a reader which can be downloaded from the Internet for free. Instructions concerning the use of RSS are available, for example, at
